MESSIANIC JUDAISM & Fuller Sem. Professor Authors Messianic Jewish New Testament

Commentary by Dr. Whitesel: One of my professors at Fuller Seminary (during its heyday when it was the epicenter of theology and practice around the world) was Dr. David H. M Stearns.

A (USC) University of Southern California professor of economics, he had not only written a book about surfing but also wrote the Messianic Jewish New Testament. He later expanded this into the Jewish Bible as well as many other books and articles about how we have lost much of the Jewish cultural influence of our Christianity.

Take a look at his wiki page and follow the links on Amazon to buy his books. I know that having a semester with this exceedingly smart professor and theologian forever changed my life (about surfing too).

This Simpsons episode illustrated this with Homer holding a photo of God and as he would angle it, the image changed as he would say ‘vengeful God’ “loving God… Just watched the whole episode. Quite fascinating… There is a church that worships in a bowling alley in it.”
